Director, Net of Compassion
Richard (Richie) Gonzalez is the Founder and Director of Net of Compassion as well as the Pastor at Restorer of Broken Bridges Church Inc. He is also the director of Hotel Grace, a cold-weather shelter for the homeless, which opens its doors when the mercury drops below 32 degrees. He also serves as a board member for the Latin American Health Alliance, an organization with the mission to identify and address the significant health disparities that exist for Latinos/Latinas living in the greater Worcester area.
Richie was born into a very dysfunctional home with alcohol, drugs, and violence. At the age of 2, he lost his father to alcoholism and by 7 was already on the street. Richie spent 27 years battling addiction and 17 of those years in and out of prison. By the grace of God, Richie is now a strong believer in Christ, a husband and a father. As he puts it, he is now “a man that loves God, loves people, and loves his community.”
